Makers AI Labs is a space for collaboration and debate among leaders working with AI.
We will use structured case based learning and practical exercises to explore the opportunities and risks that the AI transformation presents.
Each workshop will be led by an expert at the forefront of AI innovation. We will tackle real business challenges and learn how to implement emerging technologies.
To successfully embrace the AI transformation, leaders need to do three things:
This series will support leaders in achieving these goals.
This event will be run entirely on-site at Makers HQ, in the heart of Shoreditch.
The workshops are for all technical and non technical leaders looking to enrich their understanding of AI and apply it to their teams, whether you’re an Engineering Lead, Head of People or Marketing Manager. Sessions are facilitated by Sean Hawkridge, Leadership Training Lead at Makers.
September 22nd ‘AI at the Speed of Business’ – Jonathan Lister Parsons (CTO, Pension Bee)
Recent evolutions in AI have resulted in an explosion of new tools, systems and techniques available to our teams. Some will be game changers, others dead ends — how can you know where to invest your time, energy and money? In this workshop we’ll explore how to navigate this new landscape with one eye on the horizon.
We hope to see you there!

Welcome to Taster Tuesdays, where our very own Makers coaches will give you a taste of what it’s like to learn to code at Makers. Every two weeks, we’ll release a new workshop that focuses on one of the key technologies our students learn. These workshops are free to attend. If you’re a beginner then we recommended attending each one to build your coding skills.
Date: These workshops will take place every two weeks and will switch between evening and afternoon sessions.
As the industry evolves, so do we, and we’ve made some exciting changes to our curriculum. That’s right, we’re now teaching Python in our bootcamp and we can’t wait to show you all the amazing things you can do with it. And what better way to introduce you to the power of Python than through our Taster Tuesday Workshops. Best of all, these workshops are completely free to attend! Whether you’re a seasoned coder or just starting out, our workshops are the perfect way to hone your skills and take your coding to the next level.
As our approach is tailored to people with no previous experience in coding. Our expert and super-friendly coaches will walk you through basic programming and computing concepts you’ll build on as you learn to code.
This is an online event. After you register for the event you’ll receive an email with a link to join the Zoom meeting. During the session, the only thing you’ll need to write and run the program is a web browser such as Chrome or Firefox.
Make sure you have zoom downloaded prior to the event.

We have recently began workshops with our partner The Edge Hub in Hull. These workshops are free to attend. If you’re a beginner then we recommended attending each one to build your coding skills.
Date: 15/08/23
Time of 1st session: 12:30 – 2 pm
Time of 2nd session: 5:30 – 7pm
Cost: FREE

In this workshop we will use Javascript to write some letters, words, and sentences on the screen in your own handwriting. Perhaps simple for you — but teaching a computer to do it takes some work!
For beginners, we will use this exercise to cover the fundamentals of programming using statements and expressions, while paving the way for more advanced topics like functions and control flow.
For those of you who are interested in more of a challenge, you will be able to take on challenging extension exercises involving complex data analysis and even machine learning.
But you don’t need any experience to join this workshop. Come along and see if you like it!
You’ll need to bring a laptop along with you and have a web browser to run the program in such as Chrome or Firefox. Please arrive at The Edge Hub (Myton St, Hull HU1 2PS) 10 minutes before your chosen session begins.

Makers is the UK’s premier coding bootcamp with over 8 years of experience in training people to code and launching tech careers.
If you’re thinking of learning to code, Demo Day is the event for you. You’ll see what learning to code at a bootcamp can offer you, why it’s different from learning at home and the additional support our team offer to help with job hunting if you’re looking for a career change or if you’re looking to add a new technical string to your bow in your current role.
If this is the start of your research into bootcamps, we’re here to help. The team will be on hand to share details about Makers and answer any questions you have.
Demo Day is a showcase of the projects our students build from scratch in the final two weeks of the course. They can make anything, games, AI projects – the choice is theirs. In their quick fire demos each team will demonstrate their project in action and explain the tech skills they learned at Makers.
Next is Q&A with the Makers team so you can hear more about learning to code with us, so come along! It could be your first step towards your dream career.
