Alumni Talks Night

1 November 2018
Makers London

At Talks Night, Makers Alumni get together and share knowledge and experience with the Makers community.

Talks

This month we have 2 fantastic Makers alumni speaking.

1st – Johann Bornman (August 2014): How to hack your finances.

Johann, who runs a fintech startup (that’s currently hiring), wants to dispel some of the myths, jargon and BS related to personal finances. He will be teaching us how to be smarter with our money along with highlighting some free tech tools. He’ll then touch on the concept of Financial Wellness (which relates and directly impacts mental and physical wellness) and give a brief update on what he’s working on.

2nd – Margo Urey (August 2013): Better developer relations start with the interview.

The importance of soft skills for successful developer teams cannot be overestimated. First impressions set the tone for developer relations and the interview is where you make that first impression. Here are a few ways companies got it right and got it wrong; and how you can take control to start things off on the right foot.
