Learn to code. Future-proof your career. Change your life.

Make 2023 the year you launch your career in tech.

About Us

Makers is the UK’s premier coding bootcamp with over 8 years of experience in training people to code and launching tech careers.

If you’re thinking of learning to code, Demo Day is the event for you. You’ll see what learning to code at a bootcamp can offer you, why it’s different from learning at home and the additional support our team offer to help with job hunting if you’re looking for a career change or if you’re looking to add a new technical string to your bow in your current role.

If this is the start of your research into bootcamps, we’re here to help. The team will be on hand to share details about Makers and answer any questions you have.

So, what is Demo Day?

Demo Day is a showcase of the projects our students build from scratch in the final two weeks of the course. They can make anything, games, AI projects – the choice is theirs. In their quick fire demos each team will demonstrate their project in action and explain the tech skills they learned at Makers.

Next is Q&A with the Makers team so you can hear more about learning to code with us, so come along! It could be your first step towards your dream career.

Why should I come to Makers Taster sessions?

As the industry evolves, so do we, and we’ve made some exciting changes to our curriculum. That’s right, we’re now teaching Python in our bootcamp and we can’t wait to show you all the amazing things you can do with it. And what better way to introduce you to the power of Python than through our Taster Tuesday Workshops. Best of all, these workshops are completely free to attend! Whether you’re a seasoned coder or just starting out, our workshops are the perfect way to hone your skills and take your coding to the next level.

Who are these workshops for?

As our approach is tailored to people with no previous experience in coding. Our expert and super-friendly coaches will walk you through basic programming and computing concepts you’ll build on as you learn to code.

Workshop breakdown

We’ll have a series of four workshops, each focused on a slightly different topic. You can attend the ones you feel will be most useful. You can attend in any order.

#1 Making Changes: Variables, statements, memory, ifs, loops. We’ll explore how execution flows through a program in order to produce correct results.

#2 Calculating Values: Operators, expressions, functions, and dictionaries. We’ll explore calculations and calling built-in functions to generate results.

#3 Transforming Data: Breaking down problems into summarising, mapping, and filtering. We’ll explore how you can break down programming problems into a few different types and apply reproducible solutions.

4# Bring your own problem. Come with your own problem for us to work on together as a group. We won’t cover everyone but everyone should bring something

What do I need to join?

This is an online event. After you register for the event you’ll receive an email with a link to join the Zoom meeting. During the session, the only thing you’ll need to write and run the program is a web browser such as Chrome or Firefox.
